Randolph-Henry High School’s varsity girls tennis team went to Goochland High School on a stormy day in March, prepared and ready for a battle, and the Lady Statesmen returned home with a 9-0 victory.
“The result speaks for itself,” Randolph-Henry Coach Shannon Feinman said. “The work was put in by the players, and they were able to see the direct benefit.”
Feinman said she and her fellow coaches were most proud of their players’ commitment to supporting each other during the match.
“Once one match was complete, those players would go right to the sidelines to support another player,” Feinman said. “It was one of our season goals to handle Goochland at their courts. We would like to repeat that when Goochland comes to R-HHS on April 25.”
The Lady Statesmen hosted Halifax County High School on Tuesday, a team they defeated 6-3 on the road March 23. They visit William Campbell High School on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
