Deacon Russell Morton Jr., 86, of Charlotte Court House, died March 26, 2017. He was the son of the late Mr. Russell Morton Sr. and Mrs. Louise Anderson Morton.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Melvina Morton of the home; two children, Russell Morton III (Pauline), of Charlotte Court House, and Mary M. Smith (George), of Victoria; a host grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brothers, James Morton (Valerie) and Robert Morton (Rosa); sisters, Mary L. Foster and Florence Lockett; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Morton and Margret Ann Morton; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 31, 2017 at the St. Louis Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House with interment in the church cemetery.
