LENTEN LUNCHEON, noon at Keysville United Methodist Church. The speaker will be the Rev. Bob Parks, Farmville District Superintendent of United Methodist Church. Bring a sandwich; drinks and dessert provided. All are welcome.
APRIL 6
WEATHER SPOTTER TRAINING, 6:30 p.m. at the Red House Volunteer Fire Department. This free two-hour presentation is open to the public and geared toward anyone interested in weather and/or anyone seeking to become an official storm spotter. APRIL 8
EASTER EGG HUNT, 2 p.m. at Wayland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. This event is free to the public. The Easter Bunny will make a visit and prizes to be awarded.
SOUTH CENTRAL GENEALOGICAL MEETING, 1:30 p.m. at Tucker Brother’s Store building in Charlotte Court House. The building is located at 200 David Bruce Ave. Guest speakers will include Chris Langner and Lynde Roberts. Meetings are free and open to the public.
EASTER EGG HUNT, 4 p.m. at Wylliesburg Presbyterian Church. The church is located at 506 Jackson Vaughan Road in Wylliesburg.

BENEFIT FOR PENNIE DUFFIE HORVATH, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. across from the Drakes Branch Volunteer Fire Department. Penni is currently going through treatment for cancer. Proceeds will be help with medical and gas expenses. Plates are $8 and will include chicken or fish. Baked goods will be available for sale as well.

HATS OF CHRISTIANITY, 3 p.m. at St. Michael Baptist Church. The New Bethel Community Male chorus will be in concert. Everyone is welcome.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY, 10:45 a.m. at Mt. Ellis Baptist Church. The Rev. Cedric Gayles, associate pastor of the Jericho Baptist Church in Farmville will deliver the word of God. The Antioch Baptist Church Choir will offer songs of praise. The church is located at 8409 George Washington Hwy. in Keysville. Everyone is invited

DAR MEETING, 7 p.m. at the Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library. Guest speaker for the meeting will be CEO of Patrick Henry Family Services, Robert Day.

BARKSDALE SCHOLARSHIP, The Barksdale Cancer Foundation is sponsoring a one time scholarship for high school graduates pursuing a medical career. Scholarship information and guidelines may be picked up at your school guidance office or or downloaded from www.charlotteva.com. Information must be received by April 15. RETIRED TEACHERS SCHOLARSHIP, The Charlotte County Retired Teachers will offer a scholarship to high school seniors or college students who will be future teachers. Applications can be picked up a the Randolph-Henry High School guidance office or by contacting Kaye at (434) 454-6238. Applications are due by April 15.
KIDZ CONSIGNMENT SALE, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Southside Virginia Community College in Keysville. Team Cassidy will be sponsoring the kids consignment sale. Those interested in consigning should contact Kristen at kduffer@gmail.com. All profits from the sale will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
EASTER EGG HUNT, 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Bible Church in Keysville. The event will feature more than 1,000 eggs and the Easter story will be presented by Pastor Todd Childers. All are invited to stay and enjoy a hot dog lunch. The church is located at 401 Southern Dr.

EASTER SON-RISE SERVICE, 7 a.m. at Emmanuel Bible Church in Keysville. Experience an outdoor “Easter Son-Rise Service.” Breakfast will be served by the men of Emmanuel Bible Church in the fellowship hall. The church is located at 401 Southern Dr.
EASTER SUNDAY, at Providence Baptist Church. Sunrise Service will begin at 6:35 a.m., followed by a fellowship breakfast at 7:15 a.m. Sunday school will resume at 9 a.m., followed by regular service at 10 a.m.
EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE, 6:30 a.m. at Nazareth Baptist Church in Phenix. Preaching will begin at 7 a.m. with a message from Pastor Russell Lomax. Breakfast will be served immediately after the service. All are welcome.

BENEFIT MOTORCYCLE RIDE, 9 a.m. to benefit the Burkeville Lodge for the Blind. Registration, 9 a.m. at the Burkeville Lodge, 341 Oak St., Burkeville. Ride begins at 10 a.m. Day includes 145-mile scenic ride to Lovingston, lunch at the Burkeville Lodge and drawings. Route details will be handed out the morning of the ride.
