Learning Center is working for us

Staff with the Charlotte Adult Learning Center recently discussed literacy in Charlotte County with former Virginia First Lady Jeannie P. Baliles during the annual meeting of the Virginia Literacy Foundation in Richmond. Baliles established the foundation, which was incorporated in 1987. Baliles is the former wife of Gerald L. Baliles, the 65th governor of Virginia. We thank Center Director Lonnie Calhoun and his staff for working hard to increase literacy in Charlotte County. We’re excited for what the center has in store this year. Pictured are, from left, Calhoun, Ellen Royster, Baliles and Dorothiea Price.
