A joint motion was filed Feb. 15 to continue the trial to August for one of the three Red House men facing felony charges for allegedly abducting and raping a female victim in March 2013, according to the county’s circuit court clerk’s office.

Yusif Harris, 22,  faces two charges of both rape and abduction with intent to defile — according to the Virginia Circuit Court Online Case Information system.

The two other Red House suspects, Kaseem Hasim, 22, and Jalaludin Conner, 27, are set to stand trial Tuesday in Charlotte Circuit Court.

The alleged victim’s father made the initial call to police on March 27, 2013, more than a week after the incident allegedly occurred. The victim was 16 at the time; Harris and Hashim were 19, and Conner was 24.

The report stated the alleged victim knew Harris, Hashim and Conner prior to the incident and was friends with another person riding in the car.

Rape, an unclassified felony, is punishable by a minimum five-year sentence, and is potentially increased to a 25-year minimum when the victim is three years younger than the offender or life when the offender is over 18.

Abduction with intent to defile is punishable by a sentence ranging from 20 years to life and a fine up to $100,000 as a class two felony.
