Brenda Gale Nance, beloved wife and mother, was born on January 1, 1944 in Knoxville, TN and entered Heaven on February 3, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital. An amazing mother, wife, Nana, and friend, Brenda was known for her kindness, loving nature, wicked sense of humor, and generosity toward others. She was an outstanding cook and was famous for her homemade meals and banana nut bread.

Brenda loved her family, friends, Jesus, and her little dog, Duke. She enjoyed funny movies, the Bee Gees, Windmill donuts, the newspaper, and good books. She believed in prayer, being kind to animals, and never leaving the house without your makeup on.

She is survived by Ed Nance, her husband of 57 years; daughters and sons-in-law, Tiffany and Steven Helton of Ellenboro, NC, Deitra and Jim Hart of South Boston, and Heather and Jason McKinney of Red Oak; and one son, Jason Nance of Keysville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Wes Helton, Jaxton Hart, Bracen Hart, Brooke McKinney, Jase McKinney, Jay Nance, and Justin Nance.

A funeral service celebrating her life was held on Sunday, February 5 at Cool Springs Christian Church in Keysville.

Memorial donations may be made to the Southside SPCA, in Meherrin, or the American Diabetes Association. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, Keysville, served the family.
