Marching Statesmen win Grand Champion

On Saturday, Sept.  24, the Randolph-Henry High School Marching Statesmen traveled to Glenvar High School to compete in the Celtic Classic. This year’s show, “Gladiator,” was well received by the audience and judges and the Marching Statesmen earned the following awards: second place percussion, second place color guard, second place drum major, second place general effect, first place marching, first place music and first place overall in Class A. The Marching Statesmen were also awarded the highest award for the day, Grand Champion for Class A and AA. This award is given to the band with the highest overall score within those classes.
