Deaconess Lillie Tucker Scott, age 87, of Saxe, died on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016 at Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Mathew Tucker and Mrs. Bertha “Birdie” Brooks Tucker.

Mrs. Scott is survived by her children: Harold Scott, Sr. (Elloise) of Saxe, Virginia; Alma D. Scott (Filmore) of Appomattox, Virginia; Reverend Charles N. Scott, Sr. (Estelle) of Saxe, Virginia; Paulette Scott of Henrico, Virginia; Deacon Willie F. Scott, Sr. (Gloria) of Chase City, Virginia; Deacon Michael Scott, Sr. (Sherry) of Saxe, Virginia; Reverend Stanley T. Scott, Sr. (Peggy) of Saxe, Virginia and Deacon Marshall Scott, Sr. (Teresa) of Saxe, Virginia.  Lillie also leaves to cherish her memory 33 grandchildren, 26 great–grandchildren, an additional daughter-in-law, Havannah Scott, of Drakes Branch, Virginia, an additional son-in-law, Calvin Stemley, of Drakes Branch, Virginia, one sister-in-law, Rebecca Smith, of Drakes Branch, Virginia, three brothers-in-law: Deacon Charlie L. Scott (Rachael) of Clover, Virginia; Reverend Dr. James E. Scott, Sr. of Saxe, Virginia; Reverend Dr. Whitfield Roosevelt Scott (Inez) of Petersburg, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Willie N. Scott of Saxe, Virginia, her brother,  Mr. Joseph Tucker of Long Island, New York, children: Deacon Aaron L. Scott of Saxe, Virginia; Deacon Thomas E. Scott, Sr. of Drakes Branch, Virginia; Margaret Y. Stemley of Drakes Branch, Virginia and Pamela D. Terry of Clarksville, Virginia.

The funeral was held Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016 at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Randolph, Virginia.  Arrangements were by Jeffress Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Brookneal.
