During the past two weeks, Charlotte County has seen more than its fair share of vehicle accidents. Most caused either no injuries or minor ones, but there were two fatalities.

Just hearing that news is devastating. You don’t even have to know the people who died to feel anguish and eternal sadness for their families. It is a tough time no one wants to ever experience.

We can’t imagine how hard this must be for these families. They have lost not only a loved one but a part of their lives — their hearts.

We feel for you in your time of sorrow, and we urge you to stay strong. There are people who are out there praying for you, sending good wishes and who are willing to help you in any way possible … even if it is just making dinner for you one day.

Take this time to love each family member more and more. Take your time reflecting, crying and doing whatever you need to do to mourn. You need that healing time.
