Staunton River State Park will hold “Canoeing Essentials” on Saturday from 10-11 a.m.

Park rangers will be teaching participants how to canoe on the park’s 23-acre lake. A $5 fee per person will cover their canoe, paddles and life-vest rental.

Parents of small children may have to bring life-vests for their children.
