James Ray Jones, age 80, of Red Oak, VA, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Elsie R. Jones; a brother, Ryland A. Jones; and a sister-in-law, Margaret B. Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Brenda V. Jones; brother-in-law, Wayne Vaughan and wife, Linda; one niece, Gwendolyn Rogers and husband, Steve; five nephews, Aubrey Jones, Taylor Vaughan, Waylin Vaughan and wife, Sarah, Jay Ramsey and wife, Lisa; Jason Ramsey and wife, Dana; a great-niece, Ruby Ramsey: and three great-nephews, Gregory Rogers, Tyler Ramsey, and Wyatt Vaughan.

A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2016, in the Hebron U.M.C. with interment in the church cemetery. The family received friends at the home at all times. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Va. was in charge of the arrangements.
