Kermit Vernon Eubanks Sr.

Mr. Kermit Vernon Eubanks Sr. peacefully returned to his maker on Friday, July 22, 2016, in New York.

Kermit was born on July 4, 1950, in Drakes Branch, Virginia to the late Hezekiah and Marjorie Hodge Eubanks. He was the 10th of 11 children. Kermit was employed for 30 years by the New York Telephone Company (currently Verizon) and retired in 1986 from the position of supervisor coordinator.

After retirement, he worked at MV Transportation until he became ill. In 1973, Kermit married Mary Anne Avery and to this union they had one son, Kermit Vernon Eubanks Jr.

He was predeceased by his parents, Hezekiah and Marjorie Eubanks; two brothers, Jerome and Leroy (Elnora) Eubanks and two sisters, Mary Eubanks and Charlotte Davis. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Mary Anne; his beloved son, Kermit V. Eubanks Jr. (Samantha Noel); three brothers, Roscoe Eubanks Sr., Hezekiah Eubanks and Isaac Eubanks (Lannie); three sisters, Edwina Eubanks, Mable Scott (Franklin) and Sylvia Hambright (Mark); one aunt, Alice Eubanks (Noby); three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law; four godchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Frank R. Bell Funeral Home in Brooklyn, N.Y. and a memorial service was held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch, Va. with interment in the church cemetery
