Mrs. June Baker Jones of 502 Merritt Street passed away Sunday, May 22 2016. She was born in Charlotte County on October 9, 1939 and was 76 years old.  She was the daughter of the late Frank Everen and Lizzie Pearl Dickerson Baker and was married to Albert Bailey “Skeeter” Jones Sr. who preceded her in death.

She was a member of the South Boston Church of God where she taught Sunday school; pastored at Chase City Church of God for 12 years and Clover Church of God for four years.

She retired from ABB with 30 years employment and was currently manager of Love Shop Mini-Storage.

Survivors include two sons: A.B. Jones, Jr. and wife Betty, of Halifax, and Dean Jones, of South Boston.

Four Grandsons: Albert Jones III and wife, Dana, of Halifax, Brent Jones, of Charlotte, N.C., and Michael Jones, Jr. and Blake Jones, of South Boston.

One Brother: Leslie E. Baker, Sr. and wife Elizabeth Anne, of Richmond.

Two Sisters: Lizzie Marie Heath and Raymond, of Richmond, and Mary Elizabeth Anderson and husband Charles, of Lynchburg.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the South Boston Church of God located at 3000 Halifax Road, South Boston, VA. Burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at South Boston Church of God and other times at her home on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M., 502 Merritt Street, South Boston, VA.
