One injured in reported in two-vehicle accident

A two-vehicle accident resulted in minor injuries for one driver at the intersection of Kings Highways and Friendship Church Road in Drakes Branch on Wednesday, March 30, at around 5:35 p.m.
According to Virginia State Police, a 2009 Ford F-250, driven by Lewis Edmonds, 51, of Chase City, attempted to cross the eastbound lane of U.S. Route 360.
Edmonds was struck by a 2010 Ford F-150 traveling east driven by Earl McCormick, 82, of Crewe, police said.
State police said McCormick sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident. No one else was injured.
Police say Edmonds was charged with failure to yield the right of way. Trooper J.D. Gregory was the investigating officer in the incident.
