Words of appreciation: On Feb. 24 on my way back home to Charlotte County from Centra Southside Community Hospital in Farmville. I was coming home from the doctor and I was caught almost home in the bad tornado. Turning off into Union Cemetery Road, the rain had become too hard to fight. I was trying to control the car and my window fogged up badly. I couldn’t see. I almost hit a good Samaritan that jumped out of his car to tell me to open my window. I did quickly and he was soaking wet. He stopped me from going off the highway into the ravine. He saved my life and my the life of my passenger, Chestina Hodge. I had tried to beat the storm, so I owe this young man my life.

We appreciate him so much for saving our lives. I am in your debt forever. Sincerely, Mrs. Jerylen W. Reid, of Charlotte Court House.

Sympathy to all of the families who have lost a loved one recently. Our heartfelt prayers and good wishes go out to you in your time of need. You have our sympathy.

Thought for the week: Some people come in your life as blessings and some come in your life as lessons.

Life

This life is worth living, we say, since it is what we make it. The purpose of life is a life of purpose.

The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it. Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one’s definition of your life; define yourself.

My life is every moment of my life. It is not a culmination of the past. Life is like dancing. If we have a big floor, many people will dance. Some will get angry when the rhythm changes. But, life is changing all the time. Life has meaning if one barters it day by day for something other than itself. It is all about the quality of life and finding a happy balance between work, friends and family. Enjoy life and make the most out of every day.
