Eureka Elementary School held its annual Spelling Bee on Tuesday, Dec. 15  After 19 rounds, fourth-grader Emily Tharpe spelled the winning word “tropical” and was named the 2015 Spelling Bee Champion. The runner-up was second-grade student Haroon Abuzaid. Emily and Haroon will represent Eureka in the countywide spelling bee to be held on Wednesday at Central Middle School.
