Edith Lambert Roberts

Edith Lambert Roberts, age 85, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 2, 2016 in Farmville, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Hettie Lambert and wife of the late William Clyde Roberts.She attended Charlotte County Public Schools and was a member of Organ Hill Baptist Church. Edith worked at Burlington Mills and Jonbil, Inc. before deciding to stay home and take care of her children and grandchildren. After declining health, she resided at Wayland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Keysville.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Earnest and James R. Lambert, two grandchildren, Adrian and Najihah Roberts and one great grandchild, Aviance Mapunda. She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Alphonso (Wanda) and Stanley; daughter, Karen; granddaughter whom she raised as her own, Edith Marshpund((Mark); 12 other grandchildren, Tiffany, Alphonso, Daneka, Tamara, Tracey, Sean, Alex, Kenny, Raymond, Alysia, Alexis, and Allison; nineteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson; one sister, Queen Lambert; six sisters-in-law, Pearl Roberts, Clara Lambert, Azzielean Roberts, Evelyn Crute(John), Lola Watson, and Margaret Winn; special friend, Cherry Lillie Walton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held 2:00 pm, Friday, January 8,2016 at Organ Hill Baptist Church in Drakes Branch, with interment in the church cemetery. Service of Comfort was provided by Dupeeā€™s Funeral Home of Drakes Branch.Online condolences may be expressed atwww.dupeefuneralhome.com.
