On Saturday, Nov. 21, the Randolph-Henry Band Boosters presented the Miss Charlotte County Pageant under the direction of Alene Crews.

The pageant has been a long-standing tradition in the county, and the number of individuals packed under the roof of Randolph-Henry High School conveyed just how momentous the occasion was for contestants and their supporters.

Approximately 35 girls competed in the pageant this year, and the hard work involved with putting the affair together did not go unnoticed.

Amy Clement served as the master of ceremonies and Whitney Napier choreographed a delightful dance for the Miss Randolph-Henry and Miss Charlotte County contestants.

Crews dedicated her time to directing the pageant and being instrumental in making sure the event was a success. Even roses were donated for the event from Blooms by Shannon.

While pulling together a successful pageant can be a challenge, the Miss Charlotte County Pageant has stood the test of time. The efforts of the individuals involved have successfully conveyed the image of pride and determination for a long-standing event in the county. Specifically, pride in the Charlotte County community and the determination to uphold the pageant’s tradition. Without dedicated community members and supporters, the Miss Charlotte County pageant would not be successful.

In addition to the adult volunteers who continue to make the pageant possible, student volunteers dedicate their time to ensure a smooth event occurs.

The Randolph-Henry Band Boosters also play a huge part in the organization of the pageant and helping out on the night of the event.

The Miss Charlotte County Pageant deserves much applause for being an outlet in the county that allows young women the chance to shine, if only for one night. It takes confidence and courage for the contestants, and although not every contestant can receive a winning title, they are all valuable representations of the Charlotte County community.

Congratulations to the Miss Charlotte County Pageant on a job well done.
