Burrell Olin Foster, 82, a beloved resident of Central Virginia Training Center, passed away on November 4, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Cole Foster and Martha Elizabeth Miller, and a loving niece, Elizabeth Harris Klinger. At the time of his death, Burrell was the oldest resident at the Center.

A profoundly physically, mentally, and intellectually challenged individual, Burrell was blessed with long-term friendships with fellow residents, and loving, committed caregivers. He was an active participant in campus life,  enjoying weekly religious activities, monthly field trips, and the annual Special Olympics.  “Uncle Burrell” was a frequent visitor in the Robert and Madeline Hall home,  enjoying their three children, the family’s animals, and a welcoming and supportive Lebanon community.

Burrell leaves two sisters, Madeline Foster Hall of Drakes Branch, Va., Hazel Foster Harris of Glen Allen, Va., and a brother, Carroll Wesley Foster, of Meherrin, Va. His nieces, nephews, and grand-nephews frequently share wonderful, frequently humorous, memories of “Uncle Burrell’s” visits home in Charlotte County.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 14th, at Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, Keysville, Va., with interment at Lebanon United Methodist Church, Drakes Branch, Va. Lunch will follow at the family home, Willow Hall, 9231 Crafton’s Gate Hwy, Drakes Branch, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Barksdale Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 1, Phenix, Va 23927.
