Darla Marks, of the Charlotte County Extension Office, visited the kindergarten classes at Bacon District Elementary School on Oct. 16 and Oct. 23. During her visits, the students learned many interesting facts about apples and pumpkins. In addition to the lessons, the students had the opportunity to taste apple bread, applesauce, pumpkin bread and zucchini bread. They also created apple blob paintings and painted their very own pumpkin to take home. Pictured is Marks demonstrating to the students the method for making homemade applesauce.
