Heather Brown has entered the race for Charlotte County Clerk of Court. The lifelong Charlotte County resident is a graduate of Randolph-Henry High School, received a bachelor’s degree in science from Averett University and earned a Juris Master’s in American Legal Studies from Liberty University. She also has a certificate in High Performance Leadership from the Professional Development Academy. Brown is married to her husband Taylor and the couple have two young children. 

“My entire working career has been in the public service field,” Brown said. “I served as the land records deputy clerk at the Charlotte County clerk’s office for four years, where I was the first point of contact to assist citizens with their inquiries. I was also employed by the Bank of Charlotte County as a customer service representative, assisting customers with their financial business. Currently, I am employed by Charlotte County as the purchasing agent and work diligently to economically procure quality goods and services. The experience and knowledge gained throughout my professional career has given me the skill set to provide quality service to the citizens, critically think to find solutions during challenging situations, and to always be willing to learn something new.” 

If elected, Brown said her main goal would be to enhance the service citizens receive by modernizing the clerk’s office. 

“To accomplish that goal, I will be more accessible, update and utilize new technology for the court system and public record keeping, and process court documents promptly,” Brown said.
