On May 15, the Charlotte County Lions Club in conjunction with Lion’s International, hosted a Diabetes Walk for Students at Randolph-Henry High School (R-H). The walk began at 9 a.m. as students were greeted and gifted a t-shirt. Information was shared with students about the relationship between physical activity and helping to manage some forms of diabetes. Following this discussion, students accompanied by community members, school board members, teachers and administrative staff took a walk around the R-H campus. Following this event, a ceremony was held to dedicate the outdoor classroom. This classroom was sponsored by a grant through the Lions International Organization and will serve as an outdoor educational space for students at both Central Middle and R-H. Several speakers attended this ceremony to share their passion for education and to give thanks to all who made this construction project a reality.
