William Earnest Scott Sr., 95, formerly of Pamplin, passed away on April 1, in Rocky Mount. He was the son of the late David Washington Austin and Ellen Douglas Scott.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Etta Haskins Scott and son, Howard Scott.

He is survived by his children, Filmore Scott (Alma) of Appomattox, William E. Scott Jr. and Catherine Scott Tune, both of Lynchburg, Alonzo Scott of Norfolk and James Scott Sr. of Pamplin; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 8, at 11 a.m., at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House with interment in the church cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.JeffressFuneralHome.com.
