A family lost part of its small farming operation following a fire on Wednesday, March 22. Bacon District, Drakes Branch and Keysville Fire Departments responded to the structure fire in the Wylliesburg area of the county. According to Bacon District Fire Officials upon arrival, a hay/tractor shed was found fully involved. “The fire was quickly contained and extinguished,” said Bacon District Fire Chief Will Stembridge. “Members from each department worked seamlessly to get the job taken care of. Prayers to the family who lost a part of their small farming operation.”
