Randolph-Henry High School hosted a Career Day on Feb. 15. This day focused on careers, job readiness, interview skills, resume writing and more. Many teachers invited guest speakers who work in fields related to their courses. Others planned career activities such as interview do’s and don’ts and resume writing.

Some classes chose to Zoom with a professional, do a virtual job shadowing, or complete a project where students researched related careers. Students also took the opportunity to practice their “dress for success skills” on this day. Chef Engelhorn and his culinary arts students served lunches to the guest speakers as a thank-you for their visit.

The idea for hosting a career day at Randolph-Henry actually came from the student body. Several students felt like they wanted to learn more about careers related to what is being studied in class and saw a benefit from more career-ready activities.
