FEBRUARY 15-MARCH 31

TAX SERVICE — The Tri-County Community Action Agency is offering free tax preparation services through the VITA program. To qualify, your 2022 adjusted gross income must be $59,100 or less. Current year personal income tax returns, business tax returns are limited. Federal and state tax returns will be e-filed by TCCAA. FEBRUARY 15-MARCH 3

YOUTH SOCCER REGISTRATION — Charlotte County Youth Soccer spring registration is open for ages 4-18. No previous experience is needed. The fee for a player born in 2017-18 is $35 and a player born anywhere from 2004 to 2016 is $55. FEBRUARY 19

BLACK HISTORY PROGRAM — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen will hold a Black History Program on Sunday, Feb. 19, after the 11 a.m. worship service. A take-home refreshment bag will be handed out afterwards.

FEBRUARY 23

UNWIND FROM COVID — The Charlotte County Department of Social Services, located at 200 Heartland Drive in Keysville, will hold an informal meeting on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. The goal is to discuss the ‘unwinding’ process following the COVID pandemic and how this will affect our community. The group will use this as a time to brainstorm and determine how we can best work together to make this an easier transition for residents.

FEBRUARY 23

COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE — Hampden-Sydney College will hold a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on Thursday, Feb. 23. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kirk Athletic Center, located at 113 Athletic Center Drive in Farmville. Walk-ins are welcome.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY WORSHIP — A worship service with Confident Women Ministry is held every Sunday at 3 p.m. online via conference call. Services are led by Rev. Loretta Bailey and anyone is invited to call 1-657-390-7012 to take part.

ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch holds worship services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays of each month Masks are required. The Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at 1426 Estes Road in Chase City. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Jason at (434) 944-9100.

ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen holds worship services at 11 a.m. the first and third Sundays. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. the first, second, third and fourth Sundays. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church holds services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe holds in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix worship service is at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal worship service is at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.
