TAX SERVICE — The Tri-County Community Action Agency is offering free tax preparation services through the VITA program. To qualify, your 2022 adjusted gross income must be $59,100 or less. Current year personal income tax returns, business tax returns are limited. Federal and state tax returns will be e-filed by TCCAA. YOUTH SOCCER REGISTRATION — Charlotte County Youth Soccer spring registration is open for ages 4-18. No previous experience is needed. The fee for a player born in 2017-18 is $35 and a player born anywhere from 2004 to 2016 is $55. BLACK HISTORY PROGRAM — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen will hold a Black History Program on Sunday, Feb. 19, after the 11 a.m. worship service. A take-home refreshment bag will be handed out afterwards.

FEBRUARY 23

UNWIND FROM COVID — The Charlotte County Department of Social Services, located at 200 Heartland Drive in Keysville, will hold an informal meeting on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. The goal is to discuss the ‘unwinding’ process following the COVID pandemic and how this will affect our community. The group will use this as a time to brainstorm and determine how we can best work together to make this an easier transition for residents.

COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE — Hampden-Sydney College will hold a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on Thursday, Feb. 23. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kirk Athletic Center, located at 113 Athletic Center Drive in Farmville. Walk-ins are welcome.

ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch holds worship services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays of each month Masks are required. The Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.
