News Updates for Feb. 10: Students perform at All-District event

Randolph-Henry High School students Ta`Quaysha Walker, Avi Kagan- Dubroff and Central Middle School student Gerrit Ramey performed at the District 3 All-District Band Event held at James River High School in Midlothian. In early January these students competed against hundreds of other band students, through auditions, to earn the privilege to perform at this special event. Mr. Reamey prepared these students for this great honor.

Charlotte schools look to adopt new textbooks

Charlotte County Public Schools (CCPS) is in the process of adopting textbooks for high school Spanish courses for the 2023- 2024 school year. These textbooks will be available for community review at the Charlotte County School Board Office from Feb. 21-March 7, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Upon review, any citizen with concerns about these textbooks should contact Ms. Karen Osborne at 434- 542-5151.

Volleyball team hosts fundraiser

The Randolph-Henry Statesmen volleyball team hosted an all day coed tournament in the Central Middle School gym on Saturday, Feb. 4. This fundraiser drew a great turn out as eight teams entered and competed throughout the day.

Master Cattleman course offered

The Virginia Cooperative Extension will be offering the Virginia Master Cattlemen program online this spring.

The program will consist of seven sessions that provide essential information for beef producers in the areas of Economics, Genetics, Reproduction, Nutrition, Forages, Herd Health, and Marketing.

Online classes will be held weekly on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m., starting March 2 and concluding April 13. Weekly instruction will be delivered live using a web-based learning management system, and the course website will be used to provide educational materials and supplemental instruction. All participants will receive a course notebook.
