OCTOBER 29

CAR AND BIKE SHOW — The Charlotte County Christmas Parents organization will sponsor a car and bike show on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This will be at the Heartland Business Park in Keysville. All show vehicles must be in place by 9 a.m. There is no entrance fee, but any donations will go to help make Christmas bigger for children in the community. OCTOBER 30

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch turns 150 this year. The church family will hold a celebration on Sunday, Oct. 30, beginning at 3 p.m.

NOVEMBER 1

BEEKEEPERS MEETING — The Heart of Virginia Beekeepers will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 1, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Prince Edward County Extension Office, located at 100 Dominion Dr. in Farmville, with an annual honey-tasting competition on the schedule. The competition is open to all who have extracted honey from their own bees in 2022. People are asked to bring their own honey in an unmarked squeeze bottle. There will also be a non-competitive display table for jars of honey with labels. Anyone who has bees or is interested in bees is welcome.

NOVEMBER 4-5

HOLIDAY BAZAAR — St. Theresa Church, located at 700 Buffalo Street in Farmville, will hold a two-day Holiday Bazaar in November. It will run on Friday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and then on Saturday, November 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

NOVEMBER 5

VETERANS FELLOWSHIP — Safe Haven Christian Ministries, located at 5150 Patrick Henry Highway in Meherrin, invites everyone to come out on Saturday, Nov. 5 to honor veterans at the Veterans Fellowship program. That’ll be held from 9 a.m. to noon with guest speaker and retired Col. Lynette Doswell Short, formerly of Meherrin, and retired Sgt. Major Douglass Randolph of Charlotte Court House.

APVA STEW — The Charlotte County APVA will hold its annual stew on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Keysville Auto Center. The event will run from 10 a.m. until noon, with stew sold at $8 per quart. Pre-orders can be made by calling (434) 736-9241.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY WORSHIP — A worship service with Confident Women Ministry is held every Sunday at 3 p.m. online via conference call. Services are led by Rev. Loretta Bailey and anyone is invited to call 1-657-390-7012 to take part.

ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch holds worship services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays of each month Masks are required. The Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at 1426 Estes Road in Chase City. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Jason at (434) 944-9100.

ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen holds worship services at 11 a.m. the first and third Sundays. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. the first, second, third and fourth Sundays. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church holds services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe holds in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix worship service is at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal worship service is at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.
