All are invited to join park rangers at Staunton River Battlefield State Park Sunday, May 29 from 1 to 4 p.m. as they pay a tribute to the members of the armed forces that have given the “last full measure.” At 1 p.m., a wreath will be dedicated in memory of those soldiers at the Staunton River Bridge. This program will last approximately 20 minutes and is free to attend.

“This tribute is in honor of the fallen, but not forgotten soldiers,” Staunton River Battlefield Park Ranger Josh Lindamood said. “Paying our respects with flowers on graves, remembering what the soldiers were fighting for and thanking those who were fortunate enough to return home for their service is a kind way to honor those who served in the military.”

Immediately following the program, guests are invited to the Clover Visitor Center for a special soldier life exhibit and presentation. That portion of the programming will last until 4 p.m.

Please call the visitor center office at (434) 454-4312 for more information.
