WRESTLING PRACTICE — Charlotte County Youth Wrestling will have its first practice Saturday, May 7, at 10 a.m. in the at Randolph-Henry High School wrestling room which is located at Central Middle School. All ages are welcome. For additional information contact Brette Arbogast at (434) 664-8984.

MAY 14

FALCONFEST FURNITURE AUCTION — The FalconFest Furniture Auction will be Saturday, May 14 at Fuqua School’s Gilmer Gym in Farmville. Preview will start at 9 a.m. The live auction begins at 10 a.m. The auctioneer is Jimmy Carwile, Carwile Auctions. All auction items donated by Green Front Furniture. This event is free and open to the public.

BENEFIT CONCERT — Local country music artist Glen Shelton will perform live on Saturday, May 14, at 7 p.m. at Appomattox High School (AHS) in the auditorium located at 198 Evergreen Avenue in Appomattox. The concert is to raise money for the AHS football team. Tickets are $15 at the door and all the money goes to the team.

MAY 15

MUSICAL WORSHIP SERVICE — There will be a musical worship service at Union Grove Baptist Church located at 2006 County Line Road in Keysville on Sunday, May 15, beginning at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at noon. The musical guest is First Go’round, from Lunenburg County. All are invited.


ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch will hold worship services the second and fourth Sundays of each month at 11 a.m. Mask are required. Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at 1426 Estes Road in Chase City. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Jason at (434) 944- 9100.

ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen will hold worship service the first and third Sundays at 11 a.m. Sunday school will be the first, second, third and fourth Sundays at 9:45 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church will hold services the second and fourth Sundays at 11 a.m. at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe will hold in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix will have a worship service each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal will have a worship service each Sunday morning at 11 a.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.
