Samuel Ware Morton, 91 of Lynchburg, passed away on April 18, in Lynchburg. He was the son of the late Joseph Morton and Ada Bell Price Morton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Morton; brothers, Fitzgerald, Joseph, Cornell and Phillip Morton; sisters, Melvina Hatton and Arethea Morton and sisters-in-law, Ollie M. Reid, Marie R. Lee, Maxine Morton, Nannie Morton and Lillian Morton.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Darlene Morton; sisters-in-law, Jean R. Copeland and Cynthia L. Morton; nephews, Dock Reid III, George Lee Jr., Curtis Morton, Ralph and Timothy Morton; nieces, Tawanda C. Johnson, Kobena C. Cooper, Valerie Reid-Jackson, Yolanda Reid and Jacqueline Morton-Johnson and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service was held on April 23, at 2 p.m., at Gethsemane Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Drakes Branch. Condolences may be expressed at www.JeffressFuneralHome.com.
