Josh Alfred Copeland, 90 of Prince Edward, passed away on March 30, in Prince Edward. He was the son of the late Mildred Ellen Topps Copeland and George Albert Copeland.

He was preceded in death by three children, Edmond Travis Copeland, Edna Mae Carey and Josh Copeland Jr.; ten brothers and two sisters.

Josh leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of 58 years, Nellie M. Copeland of Rice; four daughters, Ella Epps of Jetersville, Nancy Paige (Benjamin) of Rice, Beverly Casper (Raymond) of Rice and Nellie Jenkins (Danny) of Cullen; two sons, Anthony Bolden of Woodbridge and James Copeland of Waldorf, Maryland; a devoted bonus daughter, Angela Smith (Jonathan) of Promise Land; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; a very special nephew, Anthony Copeland, whom he loved as his son; one sister, LaVelma Myers, of Waldorf, Maryland; two sisters-in-law, Edith N. Cardwell of Concord and Rosa Copeland of Alexandria; five brothers-in-law, James Cardwell, Ronnie Cardwell and Jessie Cardwell of Lynchburg, Richard Harvey and James Hamlet of Concord; one goddaughter, Roxanne Haskins, whom he helped raised, and loved her two sons, Tae and Quan, as his very own and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 9, at noon, at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel in Brookneal, with interment in White Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Phenix.
