Ronald David Jones Sr., 77 of Charlotte Court House, died on Feb. 6, at his residence. Born on Aug. 31, 1944, in Norfolk, he was the son of the late Joseph Brown Jones and Lillian “Maggie” Lassiter Jones.

He worked as a meat manager at various stores and at one point owned his own market.

He is survived by three sisters, Brenda Brinkley, Sandra Spear and husband, Jerry and Nancy Galbreath; one brother, James Edward “Eddie” Jones all of Charlotte Courthouse; one granddaughter, Jessica Jones; three great-grandchildren, Jayden Strader, Savannah Ava Strader and Genesis DeHaven and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his three sons, Donald Joseph Jones, Ronald David Jones Jr. (Davey) and Danny Ray Jones; two brothers, Joseph Jones Jr. and Robert Jones and one sister, Ramona Baker.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Spring Creek Baptist Church, where Rev. Dennis Smith officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Robinson Funeral Home and Crematory served the family.
