The Charlotte County Spelling Bee was held on Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Central Middle School. There were seven participants. Eureka Elementary School, representatives were Jack Clarke, fourth grade; and Susanna Critzer, third grade. From Phenix Elementary School, representatives were Ayvianna Davis, fourth grade; and Ellie Gilley, fourth grade. Nora Gayles, fourth grade; represented Bacon District Elementary School. Shania Jones, seventh grade; and Jamie Lloyd, seventh grade; represented Central Middle School. The winner was Jamie Lloyd, and Shania Jones was the runner-up. Jamie will represent Charlotte County Public Schools at the Virginia State Spelling Bee to be held on March 19.
