PHENIX CHRISTMAS PARADE — The Phenix Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. If you would like to be a participant, call Emily Lawhorne at (434) 568-0849 or Amanda Letterman (434) 610-8216. You may also email the Town Office at town@phenixva.com or call the Office at (434) 542-4123. Include contact information and description of entrant in the email.

DECEMBER 5

CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE — Patrick Henry’s Red Hill will host a Christmas Open House on Sunday, Dec. 5, from 2 – 4 p.m. The event will include a historic area decorated by the Red Hill Garden Club, complimentary hot cider and cookies served from the hearth kitchen, brunswick stew prepared and served by the Charlotte County Lions and living history demonstrations. Patrick Henry’s Red Hill is located at 1250 Red Hill Road, Brookneal.

DECEMBER 7

BEEKEEPERS MEETING — The Heart of Virginia Beekeepers will meet at 7 p.m. at the Prince Edward County Extension Office located at 100 Dominion Drive, Farmville near Lowe’s. The holiday dinner will be catered by Family Affair Catering, but members who would like to bring a dish or other food to share are welcome to do so. Also on the agenda are elections and more info about the bee school. Anyone who has bees or is interested in bees is welcome. FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH — The First Baptist Church of Wylliesburg with the Pastor Opie Terrell Jr. will no longer be having parking lot services due to the change in weather.

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at the Drakes Branch Municipal Building which is located at 4800 Drakes Main St. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Dan at (434) 210-8383.

ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen will hold worship service the first and third Sundays at 11 a.m. Sunday school will be the first, second, third and fourth Sundays at 9:45 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church will hold services the second and fourth Sundays at 11 a.m. at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe will hold in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix will have a worship service each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal will have a worship service each Sunday morning at 11 a.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.
