The 2021 Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s was held on Sunday, Oct. 31, in Farmville at the Farmville Farmer’s Market. Patricia Berkeley and her team took part in the fund-raising event and raised $1,600. Berkeley’s husband Beaver was diagnosed in December 2014 with Alzheimer’s. According to Berkeley, Beaver, who was 55 at the time of diagnosis, is in the later stages of the disease. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
