Gloria Pendleton Compton, 71 of Crewe, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 27. She was the daughter of the late David McKinney Pendleton and Jessie White Pendleton; sister of the late, Paulette Pendleton and grandmother of the late Payton Grace Ziglar.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Charles Judson “Jud” Compton; her daughters, Penny C. Ziglar (Greg) and Cheryl C. Berumen; 6 grandchildren, Mikayla, Jordan, Emily, Kierstin, April and Judson; her sister, Louise P. Lewis (Wayne); numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Gloria was a good Christian woman. She loved to read her bible and sing for the Lord. She especially loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

She was a devoted member of the Crewe Church of the Nazarene, where the family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 1, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and where memorial services will be held Saturday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to the Crewe Church of the Nazarene, 609 W.
