Charlotte County Public School (CCPS) students recently participated in “Project Smile,” a program that encourages kindergarten and first grade students to become hospital angels without any travel or health risk. Since patients are away from their families and friends, children’s drawings may brighten their day. CCPS students created artwork for veterans who are hospitalized at McGuire Medical Center. “Our school division is proud to be part of the national “Project Smile” initiative that has the goal of teaching our students respect for military veterans and providing students opportunities to demonstrate our appreciation for their service,” CCPS Superintendent Robbie Mason said.
