Roy Wade Stembridge, of Wylliesburg, passed away Sept. 17, at the age of 75.

He was a retired employee with Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative and a lifetime member of the Bacon District Volunteer Fire Department, serving as Fire Chief since 1998. Wade had a passion for farming, rabbit dogs and serving his community.

He was the widower of Patsy Stembridge.

Surviving is his son, Will Stembridge; daughter, Ashley Stembridge; grandchildren, LeeAnne Stembridge, Landon Stembridge and Alyssa Farrar and a sister, Geraldine Quinn.

Graveside services were held 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 20, at Wylliesburg Baptist Church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bacon District Vol. Fire Dept. PO Box 45, Wylliesburg, VA 23976.
