SEPTEMBER 2

VIRGINIA 211 — A virtual informational session on the Virginia 211 service will be held Thursday, Sept. 2, from 6 to 7 p.m. The informational session, facilitated by Altise M. Street, will cover 211 Virginia, a free service that helps locate local resources. Register at  https://bit.ly/2X2hh2I to learn more.

SEPTEMBER 7

BEEKEEPERS MEETING — The Heart of Virginia Beekeepers will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the Prince Edward County Extension Office near Lowe’s in Farmville (100 Dominion Drive, Farmville, Va 23901). SEPTEMBER 11

CAR AND TRUCK SHOW — The Randolph-Henry FFA Chapter is hosting its Annual FFA Car and Truck Show Saturday, Sept. 11, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Central Middle School Bus Court in Charlotte Court House. There will be music, trophies and prizes. Car entry is $10.00 and general admission is $5.00.

SEPTEMBER 12

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club will be meeting Sunday, Sept. 12, at 3 p.m. at the Drakes Branch Municipal Building. The address is 4800 Drakes Main Street. Any questions, contact Dan at (434)-210-8383.

OCTOBER 6

ESTATE PLANNING — Virginia Cooperative Extension will be offering a free in-person workshop Wednesday, Oct. 6, titled  “Estate Planning Essentials: Steps to Protect You & Your Family.” The workshop is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Prince Edward Extension office at 100 Dominion Drive. OCTOBER 23

COSTUMED RELAY RACE — The Charlotte Learning Center is sponsoring a Costumed Relay Race Oct. 23 from noon until 4 p.m. at 395 Thomas Jefferson Highway, Suite B, in Charlotte Court House. Teams should register in advance to obtain forms to track donating sponsors.

ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — The St. Michael Baptist church in Drakes Branch will be worshipping in their church the second and forth Sundays at 11 a.m.  Everyone is welcome to fellowship with us.  Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.

ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen will hold worship service the first and third Sundays at 11 a.m. Sunday school will be the first, second, third and fourth Sundays at 9:45 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church will hold services the second and fourth Sundays at 11 a.m. at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe will hold in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

LEBANON UNITED METHODIST — Until further notice Lebanon UMC on Crofton’s Gate Highway in Drakes Branch will be holding in-person worship at 11 a.m. on the first and third Sundays of the month. Masks are required to attend.

CHARLOTTE COURTHOUSE UNITED METHODIST — Until further notice Charlotte Courthouse UMC will be holding in-person services at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Masks are required to attend. Services will also be broadcast on Facebook Live.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix will have a worship service each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Rd., in Brookneal will have a worship service each Sunday morning at 11 a.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.
