A Saxe woman has died following a Wednesday, Aug. 18, crash involving a logging truck on Highway 360 near the intersection of Fort Mitchell Road between Keysville and Wylliesburg.

Kendal N. Tharpe, 22, died at the scene of the crash. A press release from the Virginia State Police (VSP) said a 2000 Mack logging truck was traveling west on U.S. 360 when it was struck in the rear by a 2021 Kia Sorento driven by Tharpe. VSP responded to the incident at 2:15 p.m.

The report said Tharpe was wearing a seat belt. Tharpe was a 2017 graduate of Randolph-Henry High School.

The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
