Tom William Spencer Jr., also known as “TC”, 72 of Charlotte Court House, passed away on July 15, at his residence. He was the son of the late Tom William Spencer Sr. and Margaret Johnson Spencer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Spencer and John Spencer and three sisters, Annie and Anna Spencer and Helen Neal.

He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Jannie of the home; daughters, Vanessa Spencer and Marcy Crank (Daron), both of Baltimore, Maryland and Amanda Hurt (Timothy) of Chester; five sons, Tom Spencer III of Ohio, James Henry of Charlotte Court House, Lorenzo Spencer (Shelly) and Lamont Spencer (Sandra), both of Farmville, and Carlos Spencer of New Jersey; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one devoted sister, Chestina Hodge of Charlotte Court House and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 23, at 11 a.m. at Union Cemetery in Charlotte Court House. Public viewing will begin on Thursday, July 22, from 12 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
