Charlie Cleveland Jennings, 87 of Keysville, passed away on July 8, in Blackstone. He was the son of the late Austin Jennings and Nettie Leigh Jennings.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jennings; three children, Robert Louis Jennings, Mary Ann Jennings and Faye Jennings; brothers, Waverly Jennings, Willie Roy Jennings and sisters, Annie Marshall, Grovine Jennings and Thelma Carr.

He joined Sunflower Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful member.

He is survived by four children, James Jennings of Clover, Charlie Jennings (Cathy) of Lynchburg, Michael Jennings of South Boston and Pamela Sparrow (Jamie) of Roxboro, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Louis Jennings (Clara) of Nathalie, James Jennings of Alexandria, and Lenwood Barksdale of Suffolk; two sisters, Elizabeth Wade of Hopewell and Queen Asher of Roxboro, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Alma Jennings; very special caregiver, Carmalita Escoto; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside service was held on Sunday, July 18, at 2 p.m. at Sunflower Baptist Church Cemetery in Nathalie. Condolences may be expressed at www.JeffressFuneralHome.com.
