JULY 17

FOOD DISTRIBUTION — Distribution of USDA food boxes, along with food purchased with donations from Mt. Zion and Providence Baptist Church for those who need food, will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Red House from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, July 17, for those in the Phenix and surrounding Red House Community. Please bring a large cardboard box and identification.  For questions, call Bernice Pannell at 248-6465 after 5 p.m. and before 8 p.m. COVID-19 safety guidelines will be followed.

JULY 25

50 YEAR ANNIVERSARY — The Darlington Heights Volunteer Fire Department is celebrating 50 years of service with an Open House Sunday, July 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. Come by and tour the facility, meet the firefighters and enjoy refreshments at the 50th Anniversary party.

JULY 29

HIGH SCHOOL GOLF TRYOUTS — Randolph-Henry students interested in trying out for the golf team should report to Briery Country Club 9 a.m. Thursday, July 29. All players should have an athletic participation physical examination form completed with proof of health insurance. For more information, call (434) 315-3886.

ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — The St. Michael Baptist church in Drakes Branch will be worshipping in their church the second and forth Sundays at 11 a.m.  Everyone is welcome to fellowship with us.  Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at the Drakes Branch Municipal Building which is located at 4800 Drakes Main St. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Dan at (434) 210-8383.

ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen will hold worship service the first and third Sundays at 11 a.m. Sunday school will be the first, second, third and fourth Sundays at 9:45 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church will hold services the second and fourth Sundays at 11 a.m. at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe will hold in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

LEBANON UNITED METHODIST — Until further notice Lebanon UMC on Crofton’s Gate Highway in Drakes Branch will be holding in-person worship at 11 a.m. on the first and third Sundays of the month. Masks are required to attend.

CHARLOTTE COURTHOUSE UNITED METHODIST — Until further notice, Charlotte Courthouse UMC will be holding in-person services at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Masks are required to attend. Services will also be broadcast on Facebook Live.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix, will have a worship service each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Rd., in Brookneal, will have a worship service each Sunday morning at 11 a.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.
