Davis Mowery, 67 of Burke Street, Appomattox, died Tuesday, April 7, 2020.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Lyman Mowery; two children, Zachary Davis and wife, Amy, and Adele Lyle and husband, Trey both of Keysville; one sister, JoAnne Barwick and husband, John of Winchester; two grandchildren, Sophie Lyle and Will Lyle; and five nieces and nephews.

Born in York, Pennsylvania, on June 5, 1952, he was a son of the late Dorothy Dusman and Charles Walker Mowery. Davis was a Band Director for Randolph Henry High School and touched many lives throughout his career of teaching. He was a member of St. Andrews Anglican Church. Davis was very proud of achieving his pilot’s license. He was an eagle scout, a die-hard Yankee fan and loved to grow things.

A memorial service officiated by the Reverend Damien Grout will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 17, at St. Andrews Anglican Church, 1916 Redfields Road, Appomattox.
