Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Recently I have seen Christ followers post things on social media which makes me think about Jesus Christ and how he behaved.

Jesus never called lost people out in public and showcased their sins.  Not one time will you see him drag a drunk, drug addict or murderer out onto social media and put their sins on display, for the whole world to see and judge.  He never put them down.

However, when the “religious rulers” found the Son of God, they mocked him and bashed him.  In fact Jesus rebuked those “rulers” behavior-not the sinner.  No, God does not like sin, but sinners do not have the same values or guidelines as Christ followers.  Unbelieving sinners are lost and therefore they act very lost, because they are.  However believing Christ followers should not behave lost or allow sinful practices to master them.

“For sin shall not be master over you…” (Romans 6:14).

As Christ followers, God gives us a life choice every day.  However, as Christ followers there is only one way – his name is Jesus Christ.  We have one way to be saved, one way to see God face to face and one way to live – to the glory of the most high king.  There are no other choices.

Christ followers do not get to bash other people that make a different choice.  For example, if a person chooses not to be saved then they are lost.  God knows all about lost people (Romans 3:23).  If you are a Christ follower then you used to be lost and now you are found in Christ Jesus.  “…Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost!  I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous people who have no need of repentance.”  (Luke 15:6-7)

We are living in a time where Christ followers can have a voice that shows we practice godly behavior, even though we live in a godless culture.   As Christ followers we are instructed to share the gospel.  Don’t you think our time would be better spent getting to know our neighbors and sharing the gospel?

“If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, so that he will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness…” (I John 1:8-10)

May we spend our time praying for and seeking out those which are lost so that they may come to know Jesus.
