The Charlotte Court House Town Council is seeking applicants to fill a seat left vacant by councilmember Julia Kurdt, who is moving to Clarksville.

Kurdt’s term was set to expire Dec. 21, 2022.

“I will miss seeing and working with my fellow council members and Karen Price, the town clerk,” Kurdt said in a Tuesday interview.

Kurdt, who was first elected to the council in 2015, said she most enjoyed working with her fellow council members to better the community and that the recent completion of the town’s new sidewalk projects was one of her proudest accomplishments.

The Charlotte Court House Town Council is hoping to appoint someone to the council at its Jan. 19 meeting and is accepting letters of interest until Jan. 8.

According to Price, if no appointment is made, then a judge may appoint someone.

Town residents interested in serving on the council are urged to submit a letter of interest to the Town Office at 350 George Washington Highway, P.O. Box 246, Charlotte Court House, VA 23923.
