Red Oak man sentenced on drug charges

Donald C. Bass of Red Oak was sentenced on three charges of distributing cocaine in Charlotte County by Judge Kimberly S. White Wednesday, July 22, following an investigation by the Tri-County Drug and Gang Task Force.

Bass was sentenced to 20 years, with all but two years suspended on each charge for an active six-year sentence.

All suspended time is conditional to good behavior for a period of 20 years and completion of two years of supervised probation. Bass was also ordered to pay $600 in restitution to the Virginia State Police Criminal Fund.

The Tri-County Drug and Gang Task Force is comprised of Narcotics Investigators and Special Agents of the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office, and the Virginia State Police Division III Bureau of Criminal Investigation Appomattox Field Office.
