The Church and Community Events calendar is published each Wednesday. Items must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. Monday for that Wednesday’s calendar. Email events to CommunityCalendar@TheCharlotteGazette.com. Many area events have been canceled due to the coronavirus. These events have not been confirmed. Please call to make sure the event is happening before attending. 

UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, all Friendship Cafes sponsored by Piedmont Senior Resources will be closed. Services for home delivered meals and non-emergency transportation program clients will not be interrupted, as these services are essential to most of the older adults’ day-to-day functions.

MARCH 18-20 

SPRING AND YOUTH REVIVAL, 7 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Pastor Frederick Anderson, Pastor of Mt. Airy Baptist Church in Gretna, will be the guest minister for the week with music being provided by different area choirs.

MARCH 21 

MEETING, 10 a.m. of the Judith Randolph-Longwood Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution at the Farmville Presbyterian Church. There will be an awards ceremony followed by a presentation from guest speaker Roma Morris, Director of Prince Edward Social Services. Topic of discussion, “Empowering People.”

STEW, hosted by the Aspen Community Association at the Aspen Community building in Aspen. There will be one pot of chicken and another of beef and chicken mixed. The stew is to benefit the Aspen Community building fund. Pre-orders can be taken prior to the stew date by calling (434) 665-0108 or (434) 610-9449. If there is no answer, leave a message.

MARCH 22 

SUNDAY SERVICES, at St. Level Baptist Church, located Highway 15, Clarksville. Sunday School every Sunday at 10 a.m. with worship service on the second and fourth Sunday at 11 a.m. with pastor, the Rev. Toney W. Smith. Everyone is welcome.

CHOIR FESTIVAL, 3 p.m. at St. Michael Baptist Church, Drakes Branch. Everyone is welcome to come and help us praise God through song and prayer.

STATE RALLY, 3 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Drakes Branch has been canceled.

MARCH 25-27 

SPRING REVIVAL, 7:30 p.m. at St. Andrews Baptist Church of Cullen. Praise service begins at 7 p.m. Guest preacher will be the Rev. Lloyd Wesley, Sr, pastor of the Mt. Ellis Baptist Church, Keysville. Different choirs will perform each night.

MARCH 28 

CONCERT, 7 p.m. at Rough Creek Presbyterian Church featuring “Prodigal Son”. There will be light refreshments following the concert and all are welcome to attend. The church is located three miles north of Phenix on Highway 727.

RAINBOW TEA PROGRAM, 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in. All are welcome.

MEN AND WOMEN’S PRAYER BREAKFAST, 8 a.m. at Lone Oak Baptist Church has been canceled.

MARCH 29 

MUSICAL WORSHIP SERVICE, 11 a.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church, 2006 County Line Road, Keysville followed by lunch at noon. Musical guests are the Buffalo Creek Ramblers from Amelia. All are welcome.

DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE MEETINGS, 7 p.m. every third Monday of the month at the Drakes Branch Municipal Office, 4800 Drakes Main St., Drakes Branch.
