The Red House Volunteer Fire Department (RHVFD) responded to a chimney fire, in a two-story home, located in the 2000 block of Thorntons Mill Road around 6:20 p.m. on Jan. 3. According to Chief Chad Reeves the owners were home at the time, and heavy smoke was visible from the left side of the house with fire showing from the eaves when firefighters arrived. Reeves said the fire was extinguished in the attic. The home received damage to both the roof and the second story, according to Reeves. Phenix and Cullen Volunteer Fire Departments also responded.
